OVERVIEW

Asbestos removal done properly

Asbestos was used in millions of UK buildings until it was finally banned in 1999, so almost any property built or refurbished before 2000 can contain it. Left alone and in good condition it may be low risk, but the moment it is damaged, drilled, cut or disturbed during building work, it releases fibres that are genuinely dangerous to breathe. That is when you need a professional. And if removal isn’t necessary, we can encapsulate the asbestos safely in place instead.

Innov8 UK Group is a fully HSE-licensed asbestos removal contractor (Licence No. 242606081). We remove both licensed materials, the higher-risk ones like sprayed coatings, pipe lagging and asbestos insulating board (AIB), and non-licensed materials such as asbestos cement sheeting, textured coatings (Artex) and floor tiles. Every job runs to the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 (CAR 2012), carried out by trained, medically-screened operatives following documented method statements.

From the first phone call to the final certificate, you deal with one accountable team. No subcontractor roulette, no finger-pointing, just a job done safely, on programme, and backed by paperwork you can genuinely trust.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Asbestos questions, answered

Do I need a licensed contractor to remove asbestos?
For higher-risk materials such as sprayed coatings, pipe lagging and asbestos insulating board (AIB), yes, the work must be carried out by an HSE-licensed contractor. Lower-risk materials like asbestos cement and floor tiles can be non-licensed, but should still be handled by a trained, competent team. Innov8 UK Group holds a full HSE licence (No. 242606081), so we can legally carry out both licensed and non-licensed removal.
How much does asbestos removal cost?
It depends on the material, quantity, location and access. A single asbestos garage is very different from a full commercial strip-out. We give a fixed written price within 24 hours of a free site visit or from photos, no vague day rates or surprise add-ons. See our costs page for typical ranges.
How long does asbestos removal take?
Small domestic jobs, such as a asbestos garage or a few floor tiles, are often completed in a day. Larger licensed works involving enclosures and air testing can take several days. We confirm a clear programme with your fixed quote.
Will you provide a clearance certificate?
Yes. Licensed removal is finished with independent four-stage clearance and a Certificate of Reoccupation from a UKAS-accredited analyst, plus waste consignment notes. It is the paperwork building control, buyers and insurers ask for.
Can you remove asbestos while the building is occupied?
Often yes, using sealed enclosures, negative pressure and careful scheduling to keep occupants safe and separated from the works. We assess this at survey stage and set out exactly how it will be managed.
What areas do you cover?
We are based in Manchester and cover the whole of the UK. We regularly work across the North West, Yorkshire, the Midlands and further afield for commercial clients.
How long does asbestos removal take?
Most domestic jobs are quicker than people expect: a garage roof is typically done in a day, and a single-room Artex ceiling usually takes one to two days including set-up and clean-down. Larger and licensed jobs — enclosures, multiple rooms, commercial strip-outs — are scoped in the quote with a clear programme, so you know the duration before we start.
