Licensed asbestos works were successfully completed at the Jarvis Building as part of a controlled demolition programme. Extensive pre-works guano removal was undertaken throughout the structure, making the building safe to facilitate asbestos operations. Asbestos Insulating Board ceiling panels were removed from all office areas under fully controlled conditions. In addition, asbestos floor tiles and associated bitumen adhesive were removed throughout the building to eliminate residual contamination.
Works were carefully sequenced to maintain safe access, effective supervision and programme certainty. The project was delivered efficiently, leaving the structure asbestos-free and suitable for demolition works to proceed safely and without restriction.
